  • Tasting note Grigiombra Bianco 2024

In the glass, Grigiombra Bianco shows a bright straw yellow with greenish highlights. The nose is fresh and inviting, offering citrus, white flowers and a touch of almond, lifted by a light herbal, Mediterranean note. On the palate the wine is juicy and lively, balancing ripe fruit with a saline, mineral acidity typical of vineyards close to the sea. The finish is clean and persistent, closing on fresh citrus. Serve this Vermentino chilled, around 8-10°C, as an aperitif or alongside a light shellfish or fish dish: raw fish, shrimp or a simple seafood pasta salad all suit its crisp character well.

    About this wine

Tenute Lu Spada is a young winery from Brindisi, founded in 2015 between Lake Cillarese and the Adriatic Sea. It farms almost entirely organically and focuses on the native grapes of Salento, with vineyards whose setting gives the wines a distinctly fresh, maritime character.

For Grigiombra Bianco, Tenute Lu Spada chose Vermentino, a grape that is relatively rare in Salento, a region traditionally built around native varieties such as Negroamaro and Primitivo. That choice makes Grigiombra a distinctive addition to the range, a white wine that translates the vineyards' maritime setting in its own way.

In the cellar the approach is precise and fruit-focused: fermentation takes place at controlled temperature, after which the wine ages in stainless steel tanks. This keeps the fresh, direct character of the Vermentino grape fully intact, with no influence from oak.
