  • Tasting note Moriglione Primitivo 2022

Moriglione shows a deep, opaque ruby red in the glass. The nose offers ripe, sun-warmed notes of cherry and blackberry, layered with a touch of spice and a subtle warmth that betrays its southern origin. On the palate the wine is medium-soft in structure yet warm and generous, with ripe tannins and a full, seamless body that underlines this Primitivo's great structure. The finish is long and persistent, closing on red fruit and a gentle spiced note. Serve this full-bodied red at around 16-18°C alongside grilled meats or hearty stews, where its power and warmth stand up effortlessly to the richness of the dish.

    About this wine

Tenute Lu Spada is a young winery from Brindisi, founded in 2015 between Lake Cillarese and the Adriatic Sea. It farms almost entirely organically and focuses on the native grapes of Salento, with vineyards whose setting gives the wines a distinctly fresh, maritime character.

Moriglione is Tenute Lu Spada's Primitivo: 100% of this grape, deeply rooted in Puglia and internationally known as the ancestor of Zinfandel. The grapes are harvested at exactly the right moment of technological ripeness, when sugar, acidity and tannin reach their ideal balance.

In the cellar the wine ferments at 22-24°C in stainless steel tanks, then continues to age further in bottle before release. The result is a Primitivo the producer itself describes as medium-soft and warm, with great structure and long persistence — a style where power and softness stay in balance.
